‘Bout that time, eh? Mid-semester break has come again and it’s the perfect time to recharge and get ready to tackle the rest of semester one. If you blink you might miss it, so here are 5 ways to make your mid-semester break the best it can be.
1.Take advantage of the Easter events over the long weekend
Not sure what to do over the long weekend? We’ve got you covered! You can enjoy live music and wine tasting at Calais Estate, watch a movie under the stars, dance the night away at the King Street Easter Laneway party on Sunday or take a trip to Waterfront Plaza at the Entrance for market stalls, free activities and live entertainment!
2. Go on an adventure
Not going home for the break? There are some awesome spots to visit in Newcastle and the Central Coast for our Ourimbah residents.
In Newcastle, you can get your heart pumping at the TreeTop Adventure Park, enjoy the ocean views and take a stroll along the ANZAC walk or take a mini-roadtrip to Catherine Hill Bay or the Hunter Valley.
3. Make time for your study
The first half of semester one hits hard, but the second part includes exams so get prepared now and stress less later! Make sure to set aside some time for study and use it well, you’ll thank yourself later.
Got an assessment you’ve been avoiding? Take Shia LaBeouf’s advice and just do it. You can’t avoid it forever no matter how hard you try.
4. Give Netflix some love
Your Netflix watch list just gets bigger and bigger over the semester, but now you can finally get your favourite snacks, sit on the lounge for a solid ten hours at a time and binge watch all those shows everyone else in the world is talking about.
- 13 Reasons Why (trigger warning for graphic depictions of sexual assault and suicide)
- Grace & Frankie
- Designated Survivor
- The Get Down
It might seem obvious, but the mid-semester break is just that – a break. Uni life is stressful and most of the time it’s tough to find some time to look after yourself. Sleep in, eat delicious food, hang out with friends, do some yoga or take a day and do absolutely nothing – now is the time!
Whatever you choose to do we hope your mid-semester break feels longer than it is!
