First Up

Residential Mentors

Your RM is your first port of call for any questions, queries and help. They are in charge of supporting the wellbeing of the residents, assisting in the transition to independent living, and providing generalised support. RM’s are provided with extensive training across a number of different areas including First Aid, mental health, sexual consent, hazing, creating respectful environments, and drug and alcohol education.

During Office Hours

Student Living Team

The Student Living Team is available throughout the week to help you with anything you may need. If you’re locked out, need urgent maintenance, have questions about your contract, need advice, have shared living concerns or need someone to talk to – we’re here for it all and heaps more!

Health and Wellbeing Coordinator

Student Living has a dedicated, highly-qualified Health and Wellbeing Coordinator that is here to support you with any concerns you may have in regards to Health and Welfare. Our Health and Wellbeing Coordinator is focused on supporting you in navigating your academic life in the most successful way possible and that includes ensuring you are happy, safe and healthy.

This is a FREE and CONFIDENTIAL service for residents.

Where? West Tower
When? Monday to Friday, 1pm – 4pm
How? Call 4913 8888 and ask to be transferred or visit the office during drop in hours

After-Hours

After-Hours Duty Officer

For after-hours support, the After-Hours Duty Officers (AHDOs) are here to help when the day staff aren’t about from basics like lock-outs and emergency maintenance to emergency situations where you or a friend may need help.

As an extension of the Student Living Support Team, the AHDOs work to provide a safe and inclusive environment to ensure that after-hours support is provided to all residents.

When? Monday to Friday, 5:30pm – 3:30am. Weekends 8am – 3:30am*

*Please note: Safety and Security Services take over from 3:30am so there’s always someone you can call.

24/7 Crisis Support Line

This service is operated by a team of qualified crisis support specialists who can support you to find relief from current distress, explore coping strategies, and safely manage any immediate threats to life or safety.

The service offers immediate and short-term crisis support only, not an ongoing counselling relationship, therapy or treatment. If you’d like to, you can also seek help from the UON Counselling team for ongoing treatment.
